1	我曾被罪惡鎖鍊之捆綁， 像奴不自由，痛苦難當； 但耶穌斷開我一切鎖鍊， 榮耀之救恩，使我釋放。

Once I was bound by sin’s galling fetters,
Chained like a slave I struggled in vain,
But I received a glorious freedom
When Jesus broke my fetters in twain.

1*	榮耀之釋放！奇妙之釋放！ 我再無罪惡束縛痛苦； 榮耀釋放者是救主耶穌， 從今到永遠，使我釋放。

Glorious freedom! Wonderful freedom!
No more in chains of sin I repine!
Jesus, the glorious Emancipator!
Now and forever He shall be mine.

2	主使我脫離情慾和嗜好， 脫離我妒忌，恨惡狂傲： 脫離我世俗虛空之幻想； 亦使我離去一切憂勞。

Freedom from all the carnal affections,
Freedom from envy, hatred and strife,
Freedom from vain and worldly ambitions,
Freedom from all that saddened my life.

3	主使我脫離驕傲和愚昧， 脫離我溺愛金錢迷惑； 脫離我惱怒，暴躁之性情； 榮耀之釋放，無窮喜樂。

Freedom from pride and all sinful follies;
Freedom from love and glitter of gold;
Freedom from evil temper and anger-
Glorious freedom, rapture untold!
